U of T Video Series
Typography, Illustration, Graphic Design, Branding
The Brief:
The University of Toronto wanted a series of explainer videos that each described and illustrated the roles of the different Diversity and Inclusion offices at the University. The 4 offices included: ARCDO( Anti Racism and Diversity Office), SGDO(Sexual and Diversity Office, SVPS( The Sexual Violence Prevention and Support Centre) and CSO ( Community Safety Office)
My Role:
My Role for this video project was to create storyboards of each video. This involved determining the overall look. Deciding and creating the style of illustration and the layout of typography. Also considering how our motion designer would animate the frames.
The How:
During my research for illustration styles I discovered a free resource that assisted in creating the base of each of the characters from here I was able to alter them in illustrator to more closely resemble students while also showcasing a range of diversity. In addition to the characters each needed a scene that either resembled the UofT campus or Toronto.
I created each type lock up playing with size and position to assist with the kinetic text portion of the videos while sticking to University's brand standards.
