Lock & Anchor Branding
Graphic Design, Logo Design, Branding
The Brief:
Lock and Anchor is a locally sourced, real food eatery and bakery located in Lakefield, Ontario. They were wanting a logo, branded business card, stickers and stamp. Lock and Anchor wanted the logo to represent their quality while also being nautical  and without coming across as a seafood restaurant.
The Idea:
I wanted to keep the logo simple and within a circle so that it could be applied with stamp. For the branded items I wanted elements to be used such as patterns of stripes, dots and illustrated food to reinforce the nautical theme and variety of their offerings.
The How:
For the logo I used the font HeartLand Rough. I used this font to add a bit of texture and roughness so that when not applied as a stamp it would still communicate their hand made locally sourced quality. I paired this font with an illustrated anchor with rope forming knot to represent Locking. For branded items I chose to place the logo off centre and tilted to continue the esthetic of it being stamped. I created an additional illustrated lockup of their logo that could be applied to various taller items like tote bags or the back of a t-shirt.
